AUGUSTA – Earlier today, Senate President Troy Jackson, D-Allagash, Speaker Sara Gideon, D-Freeport, joined Legislative Democrats regarding added support from the federal government and small businesses. Please find the letter and brief statement below.
Statement from President Jackson:
“Maine is a small-business state plain and simple. Practically overnight, small businesses all across the state have had to dramatically change the way they do business, and in many cases, close their doors entirely for the sake of public health. Our sole proprietors are in crisis and they desperately need help. As state lawmakers, we’re calling on the federal delegation to make sure our small business owners can get the help they need. To get through this crisis, we need to look out for one another. We can’t forget and we won’t forget our small business owners, who are an invaluable part of our communities and economy.”
