GRAND ISLE – On Monday, Senate President Troy Jackson, D-Allagash, presented Chief Gary Campbell and members of the Grand Isle Fire Department with a Legislative Sentiment, honoring the Department’s 75th Anniversary. The presentation and celebration took place during the Department’s monthly meeting.
“It was a real honor to recognize the commitment and legacy of the Grand Isle Fire Department with a Legislative Sentiment. For 75 years, this volunteer-led department has done amazing work responding to the needs of Grand Isle, Lillie, and other nearby communities with professionalism, skill, and dependability,” said President Jackson. “I can’t thank the members of this department enough — both past and present — for ensuring that someone is always there to answer the call when their neighbors need it most. This recognition is well-deserved!”
The Grand Isle Fire Department serves Grand Isle, Lillie, and other communities in the St. John Valley who are members of a mutual aid network of emergency services.
