Instagram post 2297467808574990848_22223072861 UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS UPDATE: @maine_dept_labor has announced that individuals eligible for unemployment under the new federal law can begin filing for unemployment on Friday at 8:00 a.m. I know it's been frustrating but hopefully, this means you will get the relief you need soon. Please spread the word! You don't need to have all of the paperwork to begin filing.

Instagram post 2292438952507962172_22223072861 Maine’s sole-proprietors need relief. Unfortunately, the @maine_dept_labor is still awaiting guidance from the federal government on this program. I know that this is not only frustrating but unfair. However, we’re hoping that the program will be up and running next week. To help speed up the process, make sure you have the following documents so you can finally get the relief you deserve.
Instagram post 2288583921757321776_22223072861 Federal $600 payments coming next week. Maine DOL has announced that Mainers receiving unemployment benefits will begin to see the additional weekly $600, created by the federal CARES Act, by early next week.
Instagram post 2287395318397952936_22223072861 Many Mainers are finally starting to see stimulus checks deposited in their bank accounts. However, it's important to be aware of scams. The IRS is warning folks to look out for a surge of calls and email phishing attempts about the Coronavirus, or COVID-19.
Instagram post 2281477791251803186_22223072861 Maine Department of Labor's new unemployment system begins today. This should make things easier. Please spread the word! To apply online, go to reemployme.maine.gov/
Instagram post 2278525290038908136_22223072861 Yesterday, I joined Speaker Sara Gideon, Maine Senate Democrats and Maine House Democrats on a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar calling for a special enrollment period in the ACA marketplace during the COVID-19 pandemic. From where I stand, we’ll need to exhaust every possible option to get through this public health crisis.
➡️ By allowing Mainers to get health insurance during this crisis, we can increase the number of people who feel comfortable calling their doctor if they develop symptoms so they can get tested and self-quarantine to reduce the spread of this virus.
➡️ It will also allow more Mainers to get the preventive care they need and avoid ending up in our already overwhelmed hospitals.
It’s a simple move that can have major results, which is why my colleagues and I are calling on Secretary Azar to take quick and decisive action.
Instagram post 2276352334919547886_22223072861 Too much information from dozens of sites can get to be a lot. That’s why we’re putting it all in one place.
Instagram post 2273626906689656245_22223072861 Great news! Maine's tax deadline has been moved to July 15. This will hopefully give working folks some peace of mind during this period of uncertainty.
