AUGUSTA – Last week, Senate President Troy Jackson, D-Allagash, attended a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the new ownership of Russell’s Motel in Caribou. The Caribou hospitality staple owned by Donna Murchison was recently sold to Steve and Nick Guerrette, who operate Aroostook Hospitality Inns in Washburn and Van Buren.

“In Aroostook County, small business owners are more than just a part of our economy, they are active and integral members of our community. Donna Murchison is a perfect example of that. As the owner of Russell’s Motel she built a successful business promoting County hospitality while volunteering in the community and encouraging others to get involved,” said President Jackson. “Congratulations to Donna on the sale of her motel and a well-earned retirement! I’m thrilled that Russell’s Motel will remain open under the leadership of Steve and Nick Guerrette, and want to wish them the best of luck as they take over. I have no doubt that Donna’s legacy is in good hands.”
