AUGUSTA – Senate President Troy Jackson, D-Allagash, has called for Governor Janet T. Mills convene a reopening advisory council made up of lawmakers, business leaders and public health experts. The goal is to get people around the table and come up with a smart, practical and plan to reopen the state.
“As Mainers, we solve problems around our kitchen tables, and our response to COVID-19 should be no different. I sent a letter requesting Governor Mills form a COVID-19 response council that includes legislators, business owners, workers, and public health professionals to advise her on reopening our economy and responding to the pandemic,” said President Jackson. “We get real solutions by rolling up our sleeves and bring people around the table, not by launching political stunts that jeopardize the health, welfare, and our ability to reopen our economy.”
