AUGUSTA — Senate President Troy Jackson, D-Allagash, will hold public office hours at three locations in central Aroostook County on Monday, September 16.
“While there is always more work to do, I’m proud of the progress we made this session to reduce pressure on property taxes, hold Big Pharma accountable and support good-paying jobs in rural Maine,” said President Jackson. “I encourage folks from communities in central Aroostook to stop by and ask any questions they may have.”
President Jackson will hold his first office hour session at the town office on 93 Main Street in Limestone. He will hold sessions later that same day in Washburn and Ashland.
RSVPs are not required, and all are welcome to stop by and ask any questions they have on their mind. Individuals that can’t attend office hours can call President Jackson’s office at (207) 287-1500, email him directly at Troy.Jackson@legislature.maine.gov, or reach him via cell phone at (207) 436-0763.
This year, lawmakers passed a suite of bills aimed at lowering the cost of prescription drugs and voted to provide $130 million in property tax relief. Jackson also sponsored a bill to support the construction of a potato processing plant in Washburn. The second session of the Legislature is set to reconvene in January.
