AUGUSTA — Senate President Troy Jackson, D-Allagash, earned a perfect attendance and voting record during the recently concluded legislative session. He is one of 21 Senate Democrats to receive a perfect attendance score.
“This session, I had the great honor of being elected Senate President and vowed that I would continue to fight for the interests of the people of northern Aroostook County. At the very least that means showing up to do the work every day for your constituents,” said President Jackson. “I am proud of my record in Augusta, and I look forward to working for the people of Maine in the second legislative session.”
During the 1st Regular Session of the 129th Maine Legislature, President Jackson cast a total of 362 votes – 100 percent of the votes recorded, excluding absences excused for illness or other extenuating circumstances. This year, lawmakers cast critical votes to hold “Big Pharma” accountable and lower the cost of prescription drugs, provide $130 million in property tax relief and create good-paying jobs in rural Maine.
President Jackson also had a perfect attendance record last year. The 129th Legislature adjourned June 20. The Legislature is set to reconvene in January.
